Do meal timings affect weight loss

Its meal time! -  It’s not just what you eat, but when you eat matters for body weight!

Take care of your body & it will take care of you. Yes! You heard that right! Eating the right amount of food by in taking nutrient-rich food & the following exercises have been a mantra so far to stay healthy and fit. But recent studies of nutrition & dieters have proven ‘timings’ at which food is consumed also matters. So, is the risk of being obese more for teenagers who are eating & sleeping at midnight? What are the odds of putting up weight for people traveling abroad? Do meal timings affect workers in shifts? 

Eating until midnight on a daily basis does no good for teenagers!

Eating food late night every day extends the overall window during which food is consumed. It gives our digestive system very minimal time to convalesce & plummets down the opportunity for our bodies to burn fat. Nowadays teenagers hardly go to sleep at night and tend to eat until midnight. Yet, they have to get up early the next morning to have breakfast; this reduces the length of their night-time fast still further. This invariably cut short their sleeping hours and they are more likely to gain weight.

Many are working at call centers lately. This long hours culture is often making you eat or remain active when you’re body is not ready for it. Shift works may earn yourself some extra cash but slowly it will make you weak and result in heart disease, obesity, depression, & type 2 diabetes. 

Bottom line: Avoid eating at irregular time zones & have the right amount of food at each meal! 

In order to stay healthy & fit throughout, you have to strive hard to gain consistency in the timing of your sleep and meals & this eventually will get all the clocks in our body running on same time zone. Eating good breakfast is essential to keep the circadian clocks running in synchrony. As the popular saying goes, “Eat breakfast like a king, have lunch like a prince and dine like a beggar” to lose weight.
